These water-resistant sticks have an extremely high resin content that causes the wood to burn as though it were steeped in fat or oil. Exceptionally useful for starting camp or cooking fires, the wood/resin combination is easily ignited.
To use, abrade a small area of the stick to raise the wood fibers and ignite it with either a match or spark from a fire steel. The stick is then used to ignite suitable campfire material. It can be left to burn or snuffed and reused. Whole sticks can be used to start fires in fireplaces and wood stoves.
Harvested from stumps in forests that use sustainable yield forestry practices.
